Pros explanation

#1. Many ways to earn rewards: For many credit cards come with a single rate of rewards on all purchases, the Chase Freedom  Unlimited card is fully loaded with a variety of ways to earn valuable cashback.

You can earn 1.5% back on all purchases that fall outside a few new bonus categories, which is an exceptional rate compared to similar cards. Booking your travel through Chase, or using this card when dining out or ordering in, or when visiting the drugstore, you have more chances of earning even more cashback.

#2. High-value bonus for new cardholders: New entry is offered the high-value bonus. You don’t necessarily have to spend big to earn the $200 bonus, which is regarded as a no-annual-fee cash-back card. For it can only take $500 in spending for you to earn it.

#3. Long interest-free period: Interestingly, this card has an offer of a 12-month, 0% APR period on purchases. This is indeed a better and real offer for a card that is primarily focused on rewards.

#4. Rideshare and food delivery perks: These two are partners of Chase Freedom Unlimited. Kudos to them for allowing earning of 5% cashback (an extra 3.5%) on Lyft rides taken through March 2022, and be offered a complimentary DashPass delivery membership for three months.

These benefits might not have been highly valued but a good addition to an otherwise simple cash-back card.

Cons Explanation

#1. Foreign transaction fee: one of the major constraints of this card is that, when used abroad, it wipes out the benefit of your rewards because of the 3% fee on purchases made in other countries.

#2. Few insurance perks: While this card offers secondary auto rental insurance, trip delay & interruption insurance, extended warranties, and purchase protection, its shortcoming is on some of the premium insurance perks of other cards such as baggage insurance, travel accident insurance, and cell phone insurance.
