What should I select when making a purchase?
When one of our customers uses their Key2Benefits card for a purchase, they must select “Credit”. When one of our customers uses their Key2Benefits card to get a “cash back” they must select “Debit”, at participating retailers. In both cases you will also need to enter your 4-digit PIN.
What do I have to do to withdraw cash?
Thanks to the Key2Benefits card, you can withdraw cash in different ways:
– ATM Withdrawal: Access your cash by making withdrawals at any KeyBank, First Niagara or Allpoint ATM at no cost. Cash withdrawals at other ATMs cost $1.50 per withdrawal;
– Branch/Counter Withdrawal – MasterCard® Counter Cash Withdrawal (up to the penny) is available at no charge at any MasterCard® member bank (including all KeyBank locations).
– Cash Back with purchases – At participating merchants, such as grocery or convenience stores.
– Card-to-Account Transfer – Transfer part or all of your balance to a personal checking or savings account through the Key2Benefits website.

Can I make a purchase for an amount greater than the amount on my Key2Benefits card?
If you need to make a payment for an amount greater than your balance, you can use a special method: Tell the cashier how much you want to withdraw from your card balance, and then, pay the remaining balance with cash, cheque, credit card or another debit card. “Split transactions” are only available at participating retailers.
Can I use my Key2Benefits card at the gas pump?
You can use your card to pay for supplies at the petrol station, but a small percentage may be withheld: this amount will be held until the actual amount of the transaction is cleared.
You can avoid having the funds withheld by paying directly to the cashier inside the petrol station. Payments made inside are settled immediately.
Similar maximum deductions may apply to transactions in restaurants and car rentals. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for more information.
Can my Key2Benefits card be detected?
Obviously, if you wish to carry out a transaction whose amount exceeds the balance on your Key2Benefits card, it will not be possible to complete the payment. It will not be approved.
In rare cases, if you do not have sufficient funds when the final amount is cleared, it may result in a negative balance; however, you will not be charged an overdraft fee.
